A Southern Mississippi boy and a girl from New York … who would have thought that a chance encounter (or two) would bring us together? But here we are, four years later, ready to say, "I do."

Our paths crossed in the most unexpected of places—Walmart by way of Facebook—a twist of fate that neither of us saw coming. Growing up in the small-town charm of Mississippi, Corey always had a deep love for the South—its slower pace, the sweet tea, and the warmth of family and friends. Meanwhile, Jessica was accustomed to the fast-paced energy of New York, where life moves quickly, and there’s always something happening around every corner.

But despite our differences in upbringing, something clicked the moment we met. Whether it was the way Corey talks with a deep southern drawl, while Jessica sounds just like she’s still in New York or how we laughed about the different cultures of our workplaces, we couldn’t ignore the instant connection. What started as a chance meeting turned into countless adventures, long phone calls, and countless shared memories.

And then, there’s our careers. Jessica’s a healthcare professional, tirelessly working to care for others in often high-stress environments. Corey’s a traveling electrical lineman, constantly on the move for work, whether it’s storm season or routine repairs. The distance, hectic schedules, and constant challenges could have been obstacles. Instead, they became the bedrock of our bond. We learned how to communicate better, cherish the moments we had together, and support each other even when we were far apart. Each phone call, late-night text, and shared moment felt even more precious because we truly understood the value of our time together.

We’ve faced challenges, but those moments have only made our bond stronger. Through it all, we’ve realized that love truly knows no boundaries and opposites really do attract.

As time passed, we discovered how much we complemented each other - Corey teaching Jessica the beauty of Southern hospitality, and Jessica introducing Corey to her love for New York and Puerto Rican delicacies and her love for traveling. From concerts to kayaking, road trip to Chattanooga to international travel to Aruba, we’ve learned that love knows no boundaries.

Despite the chaos of our lives, we found that the one thing that held us together—no matter the distance or the challenges—was the love we shared. Whether we were planning our next adventure, comforting each other through tough days, or just holding hands during quiet moments, we knew we were stronger together.

Now, after four incredible years of love, laughter, and countless memories, we’re ready to take the next step. So here we are, a Southern boy and a Yankee girl, about to say, “I do” and create the next chapter of our incredible story. We’re thrilled to celebrate our love with all of you as we embark on this beautiful journey of marriage. We can’t wait to see what the future holds, knowing that no matter where life takes us, we’ll always have each other and the strength of our love.
