Our Love Story

Let me start by saying that this is not one of those lovey-gushy stories you see in movies or real life, but it's ours. So, take a seat and maybe grab a beverage, as Brad says I love to tell my stories. Brad and I met back in 2019. I was 16 years old, and he was 19 years old (to all the people out there against it, there's the door). I had asked him out after talking for a couple of weeks and, of course, getting my parents' permission; With their permission came stipulations being that I was not allowed to go on a date without them (AKA we went on a double date). Although Bradley and I may have different opinions on what happens next in this story we both agree that it's funny. We went on a double date to the restaurant I was working at. A little sushi place in Linthicum, Maryland. My mom talked the entire time, and my dad glared at Brad with the classic "What are your plans with my daughter" look, while I sat there silent. In all honestly, I'm surprised Bradley's still with me, I was a pretty weird kid. Nonetheless, he came back to my parents' house, we watched a movie, and then he went home, pretty standard for a first date. By the second date, we considered ourselves boyfriend and girlfriend (moving pretty fast I know). What do old people call that again, "young, stupid, and in love." Which we might've been who knows? These one-off dates continued, he met my family, and I met his, blah, blah, blah. Now let me tell you about a little stunt Bradley pulled on my father about a year into us dating. My entire family was over for a small get-together, and we were out in the backyard. My dad had had a couple of shots and at this point was feeling comfortable. Bradley wanted to stay the night, he had asked my mom, gathered the opinions from my older siblings, and decided to bite the bullet. He went up to my father, and not beating around the bush, asked him if he could spend the night with me (oooo spicy). It was like a standoff in my backyard, everybody, I mean EVERYBODY stood there waiting for my dad's response. To our surprise, he said YES! Now if any of you reading this know my father this was way out of the norm. Bradley had all of my siblings' panties in a twist, but that didn't matter because he had my father's approval in more ways than one. Then COVID-19 hit, and it was pretty hard. We were restricted to only talking over the phone again, which fortunately we were very familiar with. This went on for months as we all know, and the one thing I know for sure is that distance most definitely makes the heart grow fonder. Once we were allowed to see each other again it was like white on rice (not in the way you all are thinkin). We spent every moment we could together. Sadly, moving into my senior year I was struggling with school and my own personal issues. I made the extremely tough decision to break up with Brad. It was heartbreaking, I had crushed all of our dreams and hopes for a happier future all because of a depressing period in my life. Moving along into 2021 alone I didn't know what I was doing, so I made the ridiculous decision to move to Texas. While in Texas I lived my life to the fullest but never felt truly full. I longed for better connections and the friends I had there I knew were only temporary. One night in late 2021 I reached out to him to see what was up. He was most definitely confused but still welcomed me back. Just like our first time meeting the conversations were never-ending, all up into the wee hours of the morning. Our love story from that moment on continued to grow. Now almost 6 years together, I can't believe how lucky I am to have such a wonderful, caring, and creative person in my life.

Travel Information We’re so excited to celebrate with you in beautiful Greece! Our wedding will take place at Villa Delenia, located near the coastal village of Nea Styra on the island of Evia. Getting There:The closest airport is Athens International Airport (ATH). From there, we'll be making things easy—Bradley and I will be renting a car to help transport guests from the airport to the venue. If you're arriving at a different time or prefer to make your own way, we’re happy to help with directions. Flight Tip: Turkish Airlines is currently offering some of the best prices on flights to Athens. You might find even better deals if you fly out of Washington, DC—specifically Dulles International Airport (IAD). Ferry Details:To reach Nea Styra, we’ll take a scenic ferry ride from the mainland. The ferry operates daily between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, so please keep this schedule in mind when booking your flights. We’ll share more detailed timing and pickup plans as we get closer to the date.
