The day we met was a walk in the park for Jess. Literally. my friend, Ross, and I were going to go play disc golf with two of Ross's friends he had met while working at summer camp, Lindsey and Jess. They had no interest in playing but did want to walk along for the game.

The first few things that stood out about Jess were her laugh, her ability to tell a good story, and her unfounded sense of confidence in her height (she still thinks she is 5'5") and Chris still thinks he is funny.

The conversation started flowing right away. After joking about how heavy our friend Ross was as a baby (8lbs, 23ounces), we traded stories about summer camp, salad, and French Fries. One good day became 3 in a row, and even though we were in larger groups, you could say we hit it off. Running across town at night playing a game called kidnapped (it’s a story for another time - but if you know our friend Cuda, this game wouldn’t surprise you), attending a bonfire, and watching the Vikings win while doing facemasks.

It went well enough that she personally invited me back. To a party! that wasn’t for 2 months. Nonetheless, I was flattered and put it on my calendar.

We ended up seeing each other a few times that semester, hanging out at parties, through mutual friends, and even going on her first ski trip (She Shreds).

When I returned to college for my final semester, Jess and I were talking, but I had no idea what that meant. Were we talking or just talking. Not a clue. Fortunately, her 21st birthday provided some clarity. The rest of this paragraph has been deleted.

Soon enough, Jess and I decided to make it official! We have dated for 5 years now and have been together through it all -Graduation, Grad school, St. Cloud, Jamestown, Grand Forks, 75 hard, 9 different states, Vikings games, camping trips, and so much more.

We are so excited for our next adventure and are so glad that you are coming along for the ride.
