Our ceremony location, hotel, and reception venue are roughly a 2 1/2 hour drive from the Keflavík International Airport, so we recommend renting a vehicle. We have had a great experience with Blue Car Rental, but there are many other reputable companies as well.

Planning on staying in Iceland longer?

In September, a car will be just fine if you don't want to travel beyond the Ring Road. However, we strongly recommend renting a 4x4 if you plan on seeing sights that are off the beaten path.

The temperature in Iceland in September can range from 45°–60°, so we recommend wearing layers that you can adjust throughout the day. Because our wedding ceremony will take place outside on uneven terrain, you should either wear hiking boots or sneakers and clothing that you feel comfortable moving around in.

Planning on staying in Iceland longer?

We strongly recommend buying waterproof shoes, jackets, and pants so you can enjoy the many waterfalls that the country has to offer without getting your clothing wet.

Iceland uses the Króna. You can do a currency exchange so you have cash on hand, but Mastercard and Visa are widely accepted throughout the country. Most places will accept Apple Pay as a form of payment as well.
