Our story began in Old Town, Fort Collins where beers were had, cheesy pick-up lines were delivered (by Danny of course) and an undeniable spark came to life. After many, many months of more days spent together than apart, Danny got an opportunity to move back to his hometown of Grand Junction to pursue his dream career. He eventually wrangled the mountain girl to the desert of Western Colorado and PUT A RING ON IT!

It was a brisk, October day and we had planned to go hiking on the Grand Mesa to see all the gorgeous colors before they were gone. It was something we had done many times before so I didn't suspect a thing, just loaded up the pup and we were on our way. We admired the scenery for miles before Danny pulled off at a trail we had never hiked before, and after several minutes of trudging through the forest we came to a clearing. Lacey (said pup) ran off, per usual, and Danny chased after her. After a minute of hearing him call her name I saw her in the distance, scampering though the woods towards me. He shouted that I should check her collar for burrs or sticks that he thought were stuck to it. Me, being the worried dog mother that I am, searched thoroughly until I saw it, a big ol' diamond dangling from her pink collar. By the time my mind caught up to what I had seen, Danny was already on his knee. And the rest is history!!
