Our Story

Costs are outlined in this section to help you gauge whether you are comfortable making the trip to join us for our wedding; of course we want you to come, but we also completely understand if it's out of your price range. ♡

Expect between $300-$500 round trip per person; you can fly to Arcata (ACV) via <a href="https://www.united.com/en/us" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">United</a> with 1-2 stops or you can take the scenic route, flying into San Francisco (SFO) and driving up the gorgeous coast. A one-way ticket to San Francisco can also be cheaper I've seen as low as $89. We did this on our first trip out to California and would highly recommend it!

Flights

A rental car is essential out here, Uber and Lyft aren't exactly unreliable but with how far apart things are a rental is cheaper overall. Chandelier tree definitely has the best gift shop in my opinion.

Drive Through a Redwood!

A fantastic tree park with lots to see! The SkyTrail gondola takes you up the mountain for a beautiful view of the forest and coastline. The Canopy trail takes you up 100ft to truly experience the sheer height of the magnificent redwood trees. ($30 per person but well worth the price!)

Trees of Mystery

Prepare to get your feet wet&nbsp;when exploring this short hike into a stunning mini-canyon covered with ferns; the road to the <a href="https://www.google.com/maps/place/Coastal+Trail+and+Fern+Canyon+Loop+Trail/@41.3989599,-124.0644414,16.25z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x54d10120d3d261a7:0xf8f749f4eea694e5!8m2!3d41.4006519!4d-124.0655813!16s%2Fg%2F11qg0qvfq0?entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDUwNS4wIKXMDSoJLDEwMjExNDU1SAFQAw%3D%3D" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">trailhead</a> is unpaved but fairly drivable, we easily got to the trailhead in an itty bitty Mitsubishi Mirage. ($12 per vehicle)

Fern Canyon

From 1906 to 1967 what is now the glass beach was used as a dump; in 1998 the area was cleaned up and has since become a tourist attraction. The beach features an abundance of sea glass as well as tide pools full of sea stars, anemones, and more. There is also a sea glass museum nearby.

Full of pretty rocks and fossils (that you can buy!)

Chapman's Gem & Mineral Shop

This walk (or driving) tour will give you a glimpse of houses and commercial buildings that span 1880s to 1920s!
