It all began seven Mays ago, in the ever-so romantic halls of the Oxbow High School library. It was there that Tucker noticed Jessie for the first time (aside from in elementary school, when they played Wickersham brothers together in The Suessical, blind to the future that awaited them), as she was (noisily) fretting about whether or not to attend her senior prom.

Luckily for Tucker, she did in fact decide to go, and happily agreed to be his date. And luckily for Jessie, Tucker flaunted all the charms on prom night, including burning her a real mixtape on a real cassette. She didn't know you could even still do such a thing in 2018.

Shortly thereafter, Jessie went to college at UVM, while Tucker finished high school and went to work as an electrician. They dated long distance for the next two years, spending most weekends together between Bradford and Burlington. When the pandemic hit, Jessie moved back to Bradford and the pair was happily reunited (at a six-foot distance of course!).

Over the next few years, they saved their money and eventually bought a Winnebago Rialta (thank you Cook family!). In the summer of 2023, they took it cross country for their biggest adventure yet. Over the course of 2.5 months (and with no A/C!), they visited 16 national parks; saw family members in Connecticut, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, and Colorado; came face to face with bison, elk, alligators, black bears, and prairie dogs; kayaked on Lake Tahoe; and Jessie lost a significant amount of money in Vegas (she will never return) while Tucker (annoyingly) won $800 on a $2 bet. Even though they broke down in Minnesota and returned to Vermont in an U-Haul, there was not one second of that trip that they regretted.

In the summer of 2024, they made the move to Portland, Maine, which has treated them delightfully so far. Here, they enjoy frequenting the East End Beach, the pickleball courts, and Marcy's Diner.

The summer of 2025 was a busy one for the pair. In August, they went on their first international trip together, spending a week in the beautiful Rome. It was a lovely trip, filled with delicious pasta and amazing architecture. And in the twilight of this sunny season, after seven rich, wonderful years together, Tucker proposed to Jessie in her favorite place- the rocky seashore of Acadia National Park, during the sunrise.

It was by far the easiest yes.
