Alex had been sharing a beach house in Fire Island with Jessie's friends for a whole 2 years. Jessie decided to join them that 2nd year, but in a different house. By chance, from what they remember, Jessie and Alex bumped in to each other one night during 4th of July weekend 2012 at one of their favorite summer locations, the Matthew's dance floor. After some chit chat and a couple of dance moves, Alex and Jessie went their separate ways. One week later Alex had a new Facebook friend request. Yes folks, Jessie friended Alex after remembering meeting him that weekend. Only a couple of months would pass until the two were again by chance, reunited. Meeting at a happy hour in Manhattan, Alex recognized the stranger who friend requested him. After some more flirting, Alex stole Jessie's phone and texted himself, pure class.The following months brought numerous interactions between the two which included plans to meet up, dance parties attended, and many public displays of affection. They both knew that something was there. It took Alex about 6 (long) months of trying to create something between the two. At a certain point, they both decided being "just friends" would be better for each of them. We all learned later that "just friends" meant let's hang in each other's apartments and fall in love. Jessie invited Alex over one night, Alex returned the favor, and they both knew they would be hanging out together for a long time.Fast forward almost 3 years, 7.2.15, Alex decided it would be romantic and appropriate to seal the deal at the place they met, the magical Fire Island. To kick off 4th of July weekend, Alex asked Jessie to do their favorite thing, and hang at the beach as the sun goes down despite the sun not being out. Jessie didn't suspect a thing even though Alex was guarding his backpack the ring was in all day. There was no better place to do it, and once the question was popped and she said yes, groups of people starting clapping on the beach. With Alex's friend Ryan trailing the couple acting as the beach papparazzi, the couple greeted Ryan, and all of their friends at the house they were staying. They had an amazing weekend including a surprise visit from the Regensburg and Lane families. One they will never forget. Alex and Jessie are overwhelmingly excited to celebrate their love story with all of you!

A trip to Philadelphia wouldn't be complete with out a Philly Cheese Steak. Jessie's personal favorite is Jim's Steaks, but there is a battle for the top between Pat's and Geno's. Steve's is a silent competitor, and also in walking distance from the hotel.
