Our Wedding

Chris and Jessie instantly became friends over a pitcher of beer at Perry Street Brewing in Spokane, Wa. In no time at all, they could be seen hiking and biking around the Inland Northwest and Western Montana, finding adventure in both expected and unexpected places! From hiking with grizzly bears to intensely competitive games of shuffleboard, Chris, Jessie and their dog Mingus have become an inseparable team. Chris knew Jessie was "the one" after a camping trip in Glacier National Park. He says, "due to Jessie's excellent planning, we got the last camping site in our desired location. We decided to hike the 13 mile Grinnell Glacier Trail and near the end, it started POURING down rain. Rather than complain, she started skipping through the woods! As we neared the end of the trail, a grizzly bear made a surprise appearance 10 feet in front of us! It led the way down the trail for quite some time and Jessie completely kept her cool. I knew after this trip, she was it!" Jessie fell for Chris during that same summer, and while the Glacier trip was epic, for Jessie, it was the little moments that led to love. When Jessie learned that it was not within her tight budget to purchase wooden planters for her yard, Chris immediately recommended that they build one together. They worked as a team to build Jessie the perfect planter and Chris didn't even flinch when Jessie asked him to help her make two more! With permission, they gathered some scrap wood from a construction site down the street and set to work again! Jessie knew right then that she had found a true partner: some to equally match her creative mind while appreciating her love of saving a few bucks! Given their shared love of nature, Chris and Jessie could not have imagined saying their vows to each other anywhere but at an alpine lake in the majestic Cabinet Mountains of Western Montana. After a 3am wake-up, they hiked up to one of their favorite places, accompanied by two photographers, two videographers, a witness and an officiant. Their ceremony could not have been more perfect and they look forward to sharing a link to the&nbsp;beautiful video of the event in the near future. **Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond anyone's control which have affected their wedding venue, as well as recent surges in Covid-19 cases, they have once again elected to cancel their belated wedding reception. They appreciate your understanding and deeply apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused.

Our Story

This small, boutique hotel is located in the heart of downtown Wallace.  Fourteen lovely rooms feature many modern comforts while also preserving Wallace’s historic charm. Please note, some rooms feature private bathrooms while others connect to shared bathrooms.

The Pulaski Tunnel Trail (five minutes from Wallace, ID) traces part of the route that Edward Pulaski’s crew followed during their escape from the 1910 fires. The trail’s two-mile course brings hikers to an overlook across the creek from the Nicholson mine adit - better known as the Pulaski Tunnel - where “Big Ed” Pulaski saved all but six of his 45-man firefighting crew in August of 1910.

Things to Do

Joel and Chris became friends through their passion for the outdoors and whitewater kayaking. Over the years, Chris and Jessie have shared many outdoor adventures with Joel and his wonderful family.  Photography is one of Joel's many talents and  Chris and Jessie were honored to have Joel be a part of their wedding celebrations. His assistance in safely transporting Jessie's wedding flowers up the mountains also earned him the unofficial title of "Flower Girl".

Lisa was one of the first people Jessie met when she moved to Spokane  6 years ago! As Jessie's supervisor during her Clinical Fellowship Year, Lisa has not only been one of Jessie's greatest mentors but has also become one of her dearest friends. In addition to her titles as Speech-Language Pathologist and Mom of Three Awesome Kids, Lisa is an amazing photographer and Jessie has dreamed of having Lisa capture her wedding for years!  Of course, no wedding adventure would be complete without a few inside jokes, and Lisa's mistaken identity for a black bear  has ensured that she will always be affectionately remembered as Chris and Jessie's "Ring Bear".

Rick and Grace have been married over 30 years and have set a positive example in Chris and Jessie's lives in so many ways! Jessie and Grace met at Jazzercise and have become close friends.  When considering who they wanted to officiate their wedding, Chris and Jessie easily agreed they wanted someone supportive, eloquent, encouraging, wise and genuine. This of course meant, they had to have Grace!

Chris and Jessie's first "Fur Baby", Mingus, was an important part of their big day. An amazing hiker, he led the way up the trail with his usual zest for the outdoors and patiently sat with the happy couple as they recited their vows.  As Rick said, "It's like Mingus knew something important was happening" that day   as Chris and Jessie sealed their commitment to their new family.

Jasper is an amazing pup!  While he could be Mingy's big brother in looks, his calm  and patient temperament  rendered him an important  addition to the group!

At only 5 1/2 months old, Jesse was the youngest member of the crew! This was his first big hike and he made it up the mountain powered solely by his own steam. Curious, soft and cuddly, he worked his way into the hearts of everyone in the group!

Jessie is grateful to belong to a "tribe" of amazing, strong women!  When Erica, Sheri and Stephanie learned of the couple's plan to eat in Sandpoint after their ceremony, they secretly schemed to arrive early, decorate and surprise Chris and Jessie upon their arrival! They even sneaked into Chris and Jessie's Spokane apartment, stocked them up with snacks, thoughtful gifts and decorated so the wedding celebrations could continue after arriving back home.
