What should I do if I can't make it to the wedding?

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no”, so that we can plan accordingly. Thank you so much and we hope to see you soon!

Is there a Dress Code? What should I wear?

The dress code for our wedding is formal black tie. We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us! We are requesting a formal, all-black or darker colored dress code for our evening. Please no white or printed colored clothing, daytime/informal dresses or jeans. Men’s white dress shirts are allowed under a black suit jacket. Please refer to the attire tab on our website if you need some outfit inspiration. Thank you for understanding our vision!

What time is the reception scheduled to end? Will there be an after-party?

12 midnight and YES ABSOLUTELY! We plan to move to the bar area in the Marriott.

Is everything final on the itenerary?

For the guests, yes. Bridal party, please check back periodically. Events and times may change due to logistics, locations and the hotel guidelines.

What weather should I expect?

Hopefully Sunny & Warm Lauderdale. Temps average 77 for the high and 56 for the low during this time of year. Some times a little cold front can visit in February. Pack a sweater just in case.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony & cocktail hour will be outside (weather permitting) and the reception will be in the beautiful Ocean Ball Room.

What should I expect after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, we have a few photos to take. You are invited to our cocktail hour with the amazing violinist on the ocean terrace right next to the ceremony area where drinks and hor deaouves will be flowing. Dinner will be served at 7:15 with lots of dancing and celebration.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

If you aren't staying at the hotel, plan for traffic on A1A. It’s very busy in Fort Lauderdale this time of year. Plan time for uber rides or parking. We suggest arriving at 4:45 pm to give yourself time to park before the ceremony.

Will I need transportation?

The entire event is taking place at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort. There is ample parking for those who feel comfortable driving, and Uber is a great option for those who don’t. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink.

Where do I park?

If you aren't staying at one of the listed hotels near the Marriott, there will be wedding day valet for $10

Do you have any recommendations for local restaurants, points of interest, or things to do?

The greatest gift you could give us is responding to your RSVP as soon as you can whether it is a yes or an unfortunately no. We understand life is busy. Please reach out to us so that can try to find a way to accommodate you if it is possible.

When should I make my travel plans?

Please do not wait to book rooms or flights. February is entering into busy season and nearby hotels will book fast. Book as far advance as you can. Can I bring my kids? Is there a babysitter?

As much as we love your little ones, this will be a 16 & older celebration. We hope this advance notice means you’re able to let your hair down and celebrate with us on the day! We hope you understand. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help. If you plan to travel with your children but need a sitter for the event, there are options like jovie.com and sittercity.com that you can look into.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you suggest I stay?

Yes! Details are listed under the Travel tab.

What if I need a house or condo?

There are tons of options. We like to use VRBO. Go to search, enter 2 bedroom condo or whatever you need. Filter the search to “central beach” (which less than a mile from Marriott Harbor) and tons of residence condos pop up. These are cheaper than houses, great views, close by and you can use all the hotel amenities.

If I live local, should I spend the night?

Of course!! We would love you to make a weekend get away out if it or if you live close, feel free to come back and forth. We will be at the hotel from Thursday the 22nd until Monday the 26th.

If I book a hotel room, what is the deposit?

If you book a room using our room block at the Marriott, a credit card holds your room and a confirmation code will arrive in your email. No up front deposit is needed and the total will be due at your time of arrival.

I have dietary restrictions, what’s the best way to communicate that with you?

We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day, please let us know when you RSVP (link) about your dietary needs.

Will there be an open bar?

Duh, the drinks are on us! We kindly ask you to "bring your party pants" lol. Please have cash if you wish to tip the bartender.

Is it okay to take pictures during the ceremony?

We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we’d like that time to be unplugged. We hired a professional photographer for this reason. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you like. Please don't forget to use our hashtag #mcgluckin24 and tag us (@jilleysue & @rob_gluckin) so we can see them, too! Be on the look out for some Instagram story fun so we can repost.

I have a question that I just can’t find the answer to, what is the best way to contact you?

You can email the bride at jilleysue@gmail.com or contact us at any time. (ample time before wedding weekend of course).

What happens if I do not rsvp in time?

If we do not get an RSVP back by the date, we have provided, it will be marked as a no. We will miss you celebrating with us, however, we have to provide a total guest count to the venue in a timely manner that they have given to us therefore, we cannot accept late RSVPs. Thank you for understanding.

What if I RSVP yes and then, an issue occurs?

Please, we ask you from the bottom of our hearts to let us know if something changes as soon as humanly possibly. We understand unforeseen issues can happen but if you RSVP yes and don’t show up, it means someone else possibly missed out on our day and the head count affects everything. If you RSVP yes, we expect to see your let smiling face. If an issue occurs, please contact one of us.
