If we had to use one word to describe our life in New York, it would be FUN. We were both lucky to move here with incredible friends who showed us the most exciting and unexpected corners of the city. From Arabian nights dance parties in Bushwick to food tours in Flushing, Queens, and surfing and Rockaway Beach the city never failed to surprise. We are so excited to welcome you to our neighborhood for a weekend of whimsy. We've included a few of our favorite spots below. We hope you take time this weekend to explore!
Iconic New York Food
Pizza - Best Pizza (Davis's favorite), L'Industrie (Jill's favorite), any pizza place on a street corner in Manhattan (Jill's mom's favorite, the grimier the better).
Halal - Go to the first halal cart you see and get chicken over rice with white sauce.
Bagels - Go to a real bagel store, not a bodega. For a complete list and comprehensive ranking of every bagel store in New York, visit https://everythingiseverything.nyc/
Bodega Breakfast Sandwich - Bacon, egg and cheese on a roll.
Williamsburg Restaurants
Win Son - The restaurant and the bakery are caddy corner from each other. The egg sandwich is famous, but everything on the menu is worth trying!
Have & Meyer - Our neighborhood Italian restaurant down the street from our apartment. One of our favorite restaurants in the city.
Birds of a Feather - Famous Chinese restaurant. Try to make a reservation.
Peter Luger Steak House - Stone family, this one is for you. Iconic steak house blocks from our apartment.
Misi and its casual sister restaurant Misi Pasta - This place is Instagram famous and deserves the hype. Delicious high end Italian food. Get the ricotta toast and post it.
Maison Premiere - The height of New Orleans in the heart of Williamsburg -- trendy oyster and martini bar that you must try.
Bernie's - Jill's white whale. She's wanted to go for two years and it still hasn't happened. Live out the bride's dream and get yourself a caesar, some chicken parm and a sundae.
Le Crocodile - Cool French restaurant right next to the Arlo.
K'Far - Mediterranean restaurant on the first floor of the Hoxton Hotel across the street from the Arlo. We would be remiss if we did not mention Laser Wolf, a very famous restaurant on the top floor of the Hoxton. It has a great view. We'll leave it up to you to review the food.
Breakfast & Diners
Kellogg's Diner - 24-hour diner with a Tex-Mex twist. It's right next to Hotel Indigo!
Triple Decker Diner - Classic NYC diner.
Veselka - Pierogi's! Davis gets the "I Stand with Ukraine," always fried and for a good cause.
SFBK - The only respectable green chili breakfast burrito in the city of New York. Grab & Go.
Juice Generation - Find Jill here.
Vinegar Hill House - Get the pancake.
