Our Story

We met in May 2016, the day we both moved to Minneapolis for our summer internships with General Mills. We moved into our apartment building above Sally's in Dinky Town, and little did we know, Jill's apartment unit was the one directly above Jarett's. On move in day, Jill and her roommates messaged the General Mills intern group chat inviting others to come meet them at Sally's for a drink, and Jarett and his roommates promptly responded with "We're already down here, drinks on Jarett" - the rest is history.

We spent the summer of 2016 exploring Minneapolis together and falling in love. At the end of our internship when it was time to head back to school, there was no question that we'd do long distance.

Our senior year of college was spent traveling between Indiana University and Michigan State University to visit each other.

Our senior year of college was spent traveling between Indiana University and Michigan State University to visit each other.
After graduating, we moved back to Minneapolis in the summer of 2017. Excited to be in the same city again, we spent the year exploring Minneapolis and sharing our favorite things together. We attended many sporting events, went ice skating at winter festivals, tried lots of new restaurants, and spent time with our friends.

In the spring of 2018, Jill moved to LA for work and long distance started once again, this time on the west coast.

Jarett was soon to follow Jill out west, moving to Scottsdale so we could be closer. We had so much fun exploring LA and Scottsdale together for the next year and a half, but were eager to get back in the same city.

After spending 6 months living together in Scottsdale during quarantine, we moved back to Minneapolis together in September 2020.

On April 7, 2023 Jarett proposed at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis looking out over the iconic Stone Arch Bridge. Jarett surprised Jill with both of our families in town and a surprise party with all of our friends. Best day ever....until August 3, 2024.
