What’s a better way to meet than your friends’ wedding? We met in December of 2022 at the wedding of our dear friends, Alana and Blair Sellers. You could certainly call them our matchmakers! They had been wanting the two of us to meet, and the dance floor (and really… the afterparty) seemed like the best place for that. Dane and I (Jill) talked for hours after the wedding, but didn’t end up going out for the first time until about a month later.

We went for our first date at the local restaurant Second Line, a place that has grown very special to us, and not only because of the great food and cocktails! Jill would say the deal was really sealed after a few dates, when we were at my condo and walked outside to find my car stolen. Dane drove me around town for hours - who knew it’d be so hard to find a rental car? We celebrated (and mourned the missing car) over brunch and much-needed mimosas that day… And the rest was history.

We learned quickly that we had a lot of the same interests, like board games, cooking elaborate meals (or having a glass of wine while Dane cooks elaborate meals), spending time with our families and friends, and loving animals… especially cats. So many cats.

Now, fast forward to June of 2024, Second Line became even more meaningful to us when Dane proposed at the end of dinner. We had family waiting for us at Jill’s parents house, and the celebrations continued throughout the following weeks with friends and family. Tennessee even came back to beat Florida State in the College Baseball World Series just for us. It’s crazy how they all knew!

Now, we get to look forward to all the celebrations to come! We can’t wait for you to share in the start of the rest of our lives together. Your love, support, and friendship mean the absolute most to us! See you on the dance floor on May 24, 2025.
