On January 30th, 2018, Alex was working at the student radio station at the University of Tennessee. Because he was an employee, he received two free concert tickets to see the band Moon Taxi that Friday night. But the concert was in two days and naturally, he didn’t have a date. 


 
By a stoke of sheer luck, his fraternity hosted an event at Uptown Bar & Grill that night with TriDelta sorority. Within the first few minutes of the event, Alex (not being much of a ladies’ man), walked up to a girl and immediately asked “hey, do you like Moon Taxi?” That girl was… not Jillian.
 
On the receiving end of Alex’s introduction was Jenny London. Yep, the bridesmaid Jenny London. Jenny responded to Alex by saying “I don’t like Moon Taxi, but my friend Jillian does!” Jenny promptly introduced Alex to Jillian.
 
Jillian agreed to go to the concert that Friday night. Despite Alex’s singing sounding like nails on a chalkboard, Jillian decided to stick around. The two have been together ever since.
 
After college, Jillian moved back to Nashville while Alex stayed in Knoxville. After a year of long distance, they bought a house together outside of Nashville in June of 2022. They live there today with their uniquely weird cat Callie (thanks to the best man, Wyatt Morton).
