Q + A

What is the dress code?

The dress code is black tie. Long dresses for ladies and tux's for gentleman encouraged. Keep in mind we will be in the Charleston, SC, so lighter fabrics and colorful gowns are great for the occasion! The ceremony will be on grass and there are grounds to walk around on, so ladies be mindful of heel choice.

Am I invited to the welcome party?

Yes! All guests are invited to the Friday evening welcome party hosted by the Martin family at the Dewberry Hotel Rooftop. There will be drinks, light bites, and dessert offered. Formal details to come.

Do I have to book at one of the room blocks offered?

No you do not! There are so many amazing hotels in Charleston, and you are free to stay wherever you please. Our goal was to make it easy on guests to travel to and from events, so all the hotel blocks are within a short distance of one another.

What if I prefer to not stay in downtown Charleston?

No problem, there are plenty of hotel or Airbnb options available to you in areas such as Mount Pleasant. We do suggest booking them further out in advance as summer is a popular time for Charleston. Unfortunately, we will not have transportation set up for you to and from the venue outside of downtown so please keep that in mind! Ubers and Lyfts are able to drop off at the venue and there are limited parking spots available at the venue.

What are the closest public beaches?

Sullivans Island and Folly beach are about 20 minutes from Downtown Charleston. Isle of Palms is bit further about 30 minutes, and Kiawah is about 45 minutes. We recommend getting out there earlier in the day to avoid beach traffic and find parking if driving.

Do I need a rental car?

Charleston is a very walkable city, the only hiccup would be if you want to do a beach day or get outside of the city. Uber and Lyft are available for daily activities

What if I want to get in Thursday?

Sounds great! Charleston is a fantastic city, and its hard to see everything in a short period of time. The room blocks are flexible, but you will just have to plan with the hotels to make sure there is an option to extend your stay.

Are there any plans for Sunday?

If you would like to stick around, we would love to see you! Our plan is to have a relaxed beach day to rest and reminisce on the best night ever.
