Boston is a vibrant city full of rich history, beautiful sites, and good eats! Check out some of our favorite things to do in the city. Our venue is less than 10 miles outside of Boston proper and about a 20-minute drive.
Take a 2.5-mile-long stroll through Boston and stop by historical sites that were markers of the story of the American Revolution. The path is marked largely by brick and has guided tours available though feel free to do it on your own for more flexibility.
A classic Boston must-see! The oldest city park in the United States and where you'll find the start of the Freedom Trail.
The first public botanical garden in the United States which is adjacent to the Boston Common. Be sure to look out for the Make Way for Ducklings statues.
One of Jillian's favorite study spots in grad school. Come and marvel at the treasured architecture and art work that spans three centuries. Be sure not to miss the courtyard and Bates Hall. Also has a tea lounge and coffee shop.
If you're a book lover, check out this charming bookshop and café which spans five stories and contains the most charming nooks and crannies! While you're in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, stroll through the neighborhood's charming streets including Acorn Street, one of the most photographed streets in the city which captures Colonial Boston.
While there are plenty of things to do in the city of Boston, there are also great activities and sites which are closer to our venue in surrounding cities.
Take an autumnal nature walk to ponder the natural world at the site where Henry David Thoreau wrote his famous essays. The trail is 1.5 miles around the pond and takes about 1 hour at a leisurely pace.
Fun fact: a scene from Greta Gerwig's 2019 film Little Women was filmed at our venue, the Lyman Estate. Check out Louisa May Alcott's longtime home and place where she wrote Little Women which is now a museum with guided tours.
