In March 2024 we went out to San Francisco and Napa Valley to check out the area and make travel recommendations for you, our guests!
We have included hotels, restaurants, activities, and tips based on our travels. If you have any questions about your travel, feel free to text or email us!
We have a few hotel recommendations. First of all being, of course, where the wedding will take place. This resort is beautiful and has many nice amenities. There are many options in the Napa area though, from other priced stays to Airbnb’s. Feel free to research and explore as you like!
This hotel is the location of the wedding. Use this 15% off discount code if you wish to stay here!

We had a wonderful stay here, and after you book you will receive an email with a list of partnered wineries you can tour for free. All the wineries we toured were through this list and we saved hundreds on touring fees. (Tours range from $50-$200 pp)
This is another stay option walkable to the venue. Book this option early if interested, rooms will fill up. You can book this now on booking.com. The sooner the better, as we have been advised this option fills up quickly
This is where we stayed when we went to San Francisco. This hotel is about 1.5 hours from the venue, but we would recommend a stay here if you’re visiting the city. It’s in a great location, very safe and walkable to attractions such as Chinatown and many museums.
Our only advice for hotel stays in San Francisco is avoid staying anywhere that says it’s in Union Square or Tenderloin. This is where the homeless problem in the city is the greatest. Anywhere else you should be totally fine. The Fairmont is in an area called Nob Hill and there are other hotel options there too.
We ate so well on our trip, and have several restaurants to recommend. Our biggest tip- BE ON TOP OF RESERVATIONS!!! We’re not kidding when we say we started planning our March trip 6 months in advance and still had slim picks of reservations at some places, and March isn’t even the busy season. If you want to eat at any of these places you need to start looking around 6 months beforehand. Some restaurants also will not take reservations till one month before but they book up as soon as it opens, so do your research.
House of Prime Rib- reservations open now!! Great food, great prices, great drinks, need I say more? This restaurant is located in San Francisco so if you are planning any time here we highly recommended it. https://www.houseofprimerib.net/
Original Joe’s- Two locations, one being in the historic little Italy of San Francisco. Great Italian food and cool atmosphere. Reservations recommended. https://www.originaljoes.com/north-beach
Mustard’s Grill- located in Napa Valley, this is a must stop, we went here twice! They are famous for their pork chop and we cannot help but agree! This is more of a lunch than dinner location. Reservations recommended, but we walked in both times and had no issue.
Gott’s Roadside is an eclectic burger and fry place with outdoor picnic seating and a lot of food options. We highly recommend this stop. Get there when they open at 11! They do not take reservations and the space fills up quickly. https://www.gotts.com/about/
Bouchon- excellent French restaurant in Yountville, about 10 minutes south of St. Helena. We highly recommend a reservation and they take them 2 months in advance. https://www.thomaskeller.com/bouchonyountville
Golden Gate Park is a beautiful park located in San Francisco. It is HUGE. These pictures are of the Japanese Tea House located there, featuring real Japanese topiary. They also have a large botanical garden, and a conservatory with many rare flowers. These three places require a ticket to enter, but you can get one ticket that gets you into all 3 for a lower rate. Make sure you enter on the eastern end of the park for these attractions. We entered at the Visitor's Center, which is on the western end of the park, and it was a trek.
We did this tour that took us to fort point, under the bridge, Muir Woods to see the stunning redwood trees, and Sausalito. A small beach town on the other side of the bridge. We saw so much of the city and surrounding area in just 6 hours, and had a great guide. This tour also offers an Alcatraz extension if you are interested!

Chinatown was an amazing cultural experience. So much great food and many cool things to see. Our one tip is don’t get there till around 11. We were there very early, around 9, and nothing was open! The community was hit very hard by Covid and as a result they do not open for business till around 11 am.
Wine tours- the best part!
Some tips
Make reservations a couple weeks in advance.
Keep in mind tasting fees pp can range from $50-$200. If you stay at the Harvest Inn there are several partner wineries where you can tour for free. Everywhere we went was one of these wineries and we were tasting $200-$300 wines for FREE.
Organize your transportation. There are multiple ways to tour without worrying about driving. We used an SUV company, but there is also the wine train, larger tour groups, etc. There is also Uber and Lyft.
The SUV company we used is called Napa Valley SUV (nvsuv.com)
