Morristown National Historical Park is nationally significant as the site of the 1779-80 winter encampment of the Continental Army under General George Washington.

Morristown National Historical Park is comprised of four discontiguous areas including the Museum, Ford Mansion and Fort Nonsense in the northern part of the park and Jockey Hollow and the NJ brigade in the southern area.
