Here's the story from Jillian's perspective:

In early May, Bryan asked if he could take me out to the two places we went to on our first date in July 2013 – Californos for dinner, then a movie at the Tivoli. This didn't seem out of character as we had talked about doing this for a while, and it just hadn't happened yet. So, we put in on the calendar, and I didn't think much of it. It'd be a nice way to kick off our summer!

The evening of June 2^nd came, and after I got home from work – and primped a little ;) – Bryan picked me up at my house. He opened the car door for me, and had Cody Fry's music playing – the music we fell in love to in Nashville. We sang our favorites on the way to dinner.

When we arrived at Californos in Westport, we were taken to a private booth where we ordered wine (a bottle, which is not a normal for us) and dinner. I had little thoughts here and there that this could be "it" when I took in how special everything was but quickly dismissed them when Bryan continued to be very normal and goofy (even slurping his Invisalign braces).

The best part of the night was the thoughtful, genuine, deep, and retrospective conversation we had at dinner. We talked about our lives as individuals and how much we had grown and changed and learned in nearly three years together. We shared revelations and special ways we saw our lives grow together in relationship and faith. Truly, it was the best dinner conversation we've ever had, and it was completely unplanned – a gift from God.

Before leaving dinner, Bryan pulled up the trailer for the movie we were going to see – it looked so good! We then walked to the Tivoli theater – it was a perfect early summer night. Bryan picked up our tickets at Will Call, and we walked into an empty theater (which I thought nothing of, because… the Tivoli…) and sat down. A "trailer" started to play and I halfway paid attention to this "artsy looking indie film trailer". Then, I heard Bryan's voice come through the speakers and I gasped – my eyes instantly filled with tears. The fake "trailer" transitioned into a beautiful film Bryan had created – it was video of us on the beach at dusk, from our trip to Mexico two years earlier. Together, we watched the film on the big screen – Bryan's words voiced over the imagery was his way to tell me all the things he wanted to say to me before proposing. When the video ended, Bryan pulled me into the center aisle of the movie theater, got down on one knee, and asked, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you; will you marry me?"
