In November 2006, Jill and Dustin met in a parking lot at a high school dance. They were introduced by mutual friends, Mitch Burnett and Kevin Harvey, who are both in the bridal party :)

They didn't talk again until Christmas Break in 2006, where they began chatting on MSN! They spent that whole first night talking, even though Jill only had dial up internet because she lived in Washago. They continued to chat on MSN until Dustin asked Jill to Twin Lakes Semi-Formal in February 2007.

Finally, on March 23, 2007, at another school dance, Dustin asked Jill to be his girlfriend. She had to ask her friends first, but luckily, they said yes!

Dustin and Jill dated all through high school, and in their Grade 12 yearbook, they won the superlative for Couple Most Likely to Get Married. They did long distance for four years while Jill went to Waterloo for university, and moved in together in 2015 - but not before they brought home Hugo, their chihuahua, who will be 10 when Dustin & Jill get married. They then brought home Chester, their orange cat, in January of 2016.

On March 21, 2021, the morning of Jill's 29th birthday, Dustin proposed to Jill. It was a couple of days before their 14 year anniversary.

And now 17 and a half years after they became a couple, Dustin and Jill will tie the knot. It was #WhitworthTheWait 💞
