It was a cold November night when Jillian made one of the biggest decisions of her life. She was home, cozy with her cat on a Friday night, and decided to save watching “The Santa Clause“ to go out with a guy she met online. After some convincing from her friend Libby, Jill decided what’s the harm in one drink. Jill told Libby to call her at 9PM, so that she would have an out if the date wasn’t going well. After the fact, Jill wishes that she had eaten dinner before going out because she didn’t realize this first date was going to last 6 hours...
Come Christmas season, Jill and Shaun had been going steady for a couple of months. Jill’s friend Kristen came to Providence to visit and have a nice dinner and see if Shaun passed the sniff test. Unfortunately the next morning, they woke up with sore throats and a positive COVID test. Jill again had a big decision to make.... Do I quarantine with this strange man? As rational people do, they decided to hunker down in the smaller of their two apartments. The couple spent the next 13 days making elaborate dinners in their PJs, playing various board and trivia games, singing to virtual Taylor Swift concerts, watching Marquette basketball, and having the best New Years Eve with just one another’s company.
As they say, the rest is history. Shaun never moved out of her apartment and he quickly became aquatinted with his new furry best friend, Salem (Bonay for short). He powered through initial allergies and became best friends/cat dad to their little black cat. Salem loves snacks, birds, the sun, and not listening to instructions; but is everyone’s favorite fur-ball.
Shaun began whisking Jill away to many foreign (Wisconsin) and exotic (Syracuse) destinations to meet family and friends scattered about. Jill easily immersed herself within midwestern culture; and Shaun is proud to admit his Fiancée is a seasoned cheese curd connoisseur. Jill is also a staple at your local Sconnie supper club. Jill also has made herself right at home in Syracuse. She’s a proud Syracuse Salt Potatoes baseball fan, loves golfing at Radisson Greens, has become a New England fan of Wegmans, and enjoys fresh water activities almost as much as the ocean.
Jill also has shown Shaun the true beauty and many adventures throughout Southern New England. He has found his home away from home at Jill’s family’s prestigious yacht club on the shores of Branford, Connecticut. Shaun has thoroughly enjoyed many Waldron family gatherings, debating the best pizza in the US, and finding his sea legs. He also really enjoys Kathy’s cooking, attending concerts with Danielle, and playing golf with Big Dan and Dan Jr.
The couple also has seamlessly interwoven their many sport rooting interests. Jill has shown Shaun the true misery of becoming a Vikings fan; he has now embraced the weekly fall beat downs. Jill also has ran away from success as a UCONN fan and is now a fan of college basketball.... but in all actuality bleeds Marquette blue and gold. The couple have found several new teams to support together as well. Between the Seattle Kraken and becoming proud Rhode Island FC season ticket holders; they have no shortage of sports action to embrace together.... For the sake of this marriage, please respect the couple’s privacy as they work through their conflicting beliefs on baseball.
Over these past three years, Jill and Shaun’s love for each other has grown in leaps and bounds. They have seamlessly interwoven their lives and have blended their two families (almost too easily). They have begun to travel the world, exploring many places near and far. They are looking forward to tackling life’s many joys and challenges together, and cannot wait to embark on this journey. Jill and Shaun look forward to growing their love together with this next step of marriage. They welcome their closest family and friends to join them in their celebration. Cheers!
