Jim and I met at a very interesting time of our lives. Modern day dating, especially in the midst of a pandemic, was comprised of online matching and connecting on apps. Our app was Hinge and it had the slogan "dare to be deleted" - we should have known from there that this was the start of something great. From our conversations we found that it'd be worthwhile to continue chatting, but a bit more face to face. I have a tendency to be a bit of a skeptic, especially online, and the video chatting really cleared things up for me. Meeting in person was like something of a fairytale. I don't quite know how to explain it, but very early on we both knew that this was not going to be the last time we met.
After our first initial video chat of nearly two hours, we made it a point to meet up in our little town of Redding for Jim's favorite, poke, and my favorite cardio. We were able to mesh both interests and form new interests along our walk down to Sundial Bridge from Hilltop.
We met in December and the Garden of Lights was in full swing at Turtle Bay. Jim didn't want our night to end and felt spontaneous and comfortable enough to suggest us getting on the fly tickets to the event. It swept me off my feet and I gladly accepted. Following that night and a nice dinner at Mosaic, there was not doubt we were inseparable.
