Kari and I met how most couples meet: she saw my audition video for "The Bachelorette," shared it on social media, and then I slid into her DMs. We were friends for years, and became closer when we both started teaching spin. In summer 2020, we started dating, and on December 21, 2021, I tricked Kari into saying yes when I proposed on a cruise ship.

Jimmy's high school football coach, Paul Peterson, has had a profound effect on his life both as a football player and as a man of faith. He is the obvious choice to Jimmy to officiate their wedding. He will also treat the wedding ceremony like a football pregame, so it will probably be entertaining as well!

Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown

This is the neighborhood around the hotel if you want more information on shopping, bars, and restaurants in walking distance. "Upside", the Canopy hotel rooftop bar has one of the best skyline views of Dallas. West Village is also where Kari and Jimmy lived when they first met in 2017. The Rustic, where Friday's Welcome Party will be held is in West Village and walking distance from the Canopy hotel.

West Village

Airport Info:DFW is the bigger airport, but Dallas Love Field is closer and has better options for Uber/Lyft. Rental Car vs Uber:There are generally plenty of Ubers at all times in Dallas. However, sometimes Ubers leaving DFW airport can be expensive, so if you fly into DFW it might be worth looking into rental cars.

Travel

It isn't really a library; it is a fun and interactive museum honoring who some would call the greatest president ever (at least the groom says that).

George W. Bush Presidential Center

You can see where JFK got shot, if you are into that sort of thing.

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

If you want to see old school Texas, this is the place to go. You can see longhorns, drink at old saloons, feed goats, and walk around historic Texas. A little bit of a drive so plan accordingly!

Fort Worth Stockyards

Iconic BBQ place. There is always a long line so apparently it is that good. If the line is too long, there is a place a block away called Terry Blacks BBQ, which is equally as good but not as famous.

Pecan Lodge

The best patio bar in Dallas. This is where anyone in Dallas goes to day drink. They have mister fans to keep everyone cool and all the staff know the groom on a first name basis (he goes there far too often).

The Katy Trail is just west of the hotel and offers 3.5 miles of paved walking, running, and biking trails. If you head south you're a half mile walk from Jimmy's favorite stop, Katy Trail Ice House. If you keep going, you'll hit the American Airlines center at the south end, which is home to the Dallas Mavericks and Stars. Access to enter off Blackburn and Lemmon streets.
