The largest and, most likely, easiest airport to find travel to is JFK.

We recommend renting a car for your travels around the East Coast, but if you must take public transportation from JFK, you can take the JFK Airport Shuttle to Grand Central station, which has an Amtrak line that runs directly to New Haven Union Station.
