Over the years, we both knew each other, but only as acquaintances. Thanks to mutual friends in Omaha (you know who you are!), Dan was encouraged to ask Joan out, and Joan was encouraged to accept if he did. After a few nervous dates, it was apparent that we wanted to continue to date - and we are so happy we did!

We had numerous trips together, including an incredible one in 2019 to Italy where we watched the sun setting over the Mediterranean in beautiful Positano, Dan surprised Joan with a wedding proposal and a gorgeous ring. And yes - Joan said yes!

Our engagement turned into a L-O-N-G one until we could find a place to live together. After several failed offers, we bought our condo and proceeded to completely renovate it. Thanks to COVID, construction delays, and multiple challenges, it took almost 3 years. We're thrilled that we moved in together in February and could proceed with our wedding!

On July 2 we became "legal" at a civil ceremony in Omaha, and on July 7 we celebrated with a beautiful wedding in Pontresina, Switzerland (outside of St. Moritz). Dan's children John Hamann (and his fiancée Kaylee Pigott) and Kate Hamann (and her fiancé Jason Arkins) joined us.

We now look forward to celebrating with all of you - our family and friends in Omaha!
