Will the ceremony/reception be indoors or outdoors?

Indoors for both! Keep in mind Mexicali is warm. Dress formal, but comfortably.

What’s Mexicali known for?

Amazing food like tacos (obviously), and Chinese-Mexican fusion! Visitors can also take advantage of a fun tour of “La Chinesca” if interested.

What time should we arrive?

We recommend you arrive 15-20 min before start time to find parking and to give yourself time to find a seat, as it will be limited to street parking for the church ceremony.

What can I expect crossing into Mexicali from Calexico?

You can expect some traffic when crossing the border. Usual times range from 35 min - 1hr, thus, we advise you account for this time on the big day!

What can I expect when crossing back into the U.S. from Mexicali?

Once again, usual wait times can be long when crossing any international border, but wait times are especially long when going back to the U.S. from Mexicali. You’re looking at 2+ hours during peak hours if you go back on Sunday. Pedestrian crossings can be faster, but that would entail not having your own transportation while in MX. Additionally, the Calexico pedestrian crossing will still entail a long wait time if used during peak hours (Sunday evening).
