Our Wedding

Spencer and Jocelyn met at La Reina, their favourite taco and margarita restaurant, in August 2021. Emily, Jocelyn's best friend and now maid of honour nudged Spencer and let him know she was recently single! They hit it off right away, chatting over a bucket of Coronas and sharing many laughs. Jocelyn waited patiently for Spencer to text her about a date, and the next evening, he did! Their dog-walking adventures with Daisy, became their go-to outings, and it wasn't long before they were inseparable. This picture is the first picture they took together on one of their adventures with Daisy!

Emily and Jocelyn have been best friends since grade 6. In high school, if you couldn’t find Jocelyn, you’d look for Emily—because they were always together. Emily is also the reason Jocelyn and Spencer met—she’s the ultimate matchmaker!

A year after introducing Jocelyn and Spencer, the three of them decided to rent a house together for a year and had the best times. That experience not only deepened Emily and Jocelyn’s friendship but also created a special bond between Emily and Spencer. From unforgettable memories to endless laughter, Emily has become a huge part of both their lives, and Jocelyn couldn’t be more grateful to have her by her side as her Maid of Honour.

Haley has been one of Jocelyn’s close friends for the past 4 years. Right after being introduced to each other they realized they shared a similar love for the outdoors and camping. She’s also married to Spencer’s best man, Job, and the four of them enjoy yearly camping trips! Whether it’s exploring the great outdoors or just enjoying each other’s company around the campfire, Haley is one of Jocelyn's favourite adventure buddies!

Amelia is one of Jocelyn’s best friends from Queen’s University. They shared countless late nights and lived together for 4 years during their university days. Amelia knows Jocelyn like nobody else, and their friendship is incredibly special. Now living in Florida and working as a doctor, we’re so happy she could make it all the way here to be a part of this day. She’s such a special guest, and we’re so grateful to have her by Jocelyn’s side!

Hanna and Jocelyn crossed paths in high school, but it wasn’t until they both ended up on the same residence floor at Queen’s University that they truly became friends. From there, they lived together, completed their Bachelor of Education degrees together, and are now both teachers!

Laurissa is Jocelyn’s best teacher friend, and they work together at Eramosa Public School. Laurissa has been Jocelyn’s number one supporter—whether it’s work or life in general. Jocelyn leans on her for advice, support, and so many good times. From volleyball games to board game nights and paint nights, Laurissa has been a huge part of the fun and laughter in Jocelyn’s life.

Somer is the sister Jocelyn never had but always wished for. As Spencer’s sister, she’s welcomed Jocelyn with open arms, and Jocelyn is beyond grateful to be gaining such an amazing sister-in-law. Somer’s kindness, support, and sense of humour have made Jocelyn’s life even more special.

Job and Spencer have been friends since grade 9, and their bond has only grown stronger over the years. They shared countless high school memories and went on to play football together both in high school and at the University of Guelph. Outside of sports, Job and his wife Haley, along with Spencer and Jocelyn, love camping together and have made so many unforgettable memories at Algonquin. Job has been a true friend to Spencer, and it’s only fitting that he stands by his side on this special day as his best man!

Lukas and Spencer’s friendship began at university through football, but it really solidified when they became roommates. During school, they also worked together at the University of Guelph’s grounds department. Whether it was on the field or on the job, Lukas has always been there for Spencer.

Simon and Spencer have been friends since high school, bonding over football. He was also there the night Spencer and Jocelyn met, as he’s Emily’s boyfriend and helped play a part in the match-making. Since then, the four of them have spent plenty of time together making memories!

Adam is Spencer’s cousin, and they’ve shared many great memories over the years, especially during Sunday dinners at their Granny and Papa's farm. Those simple moments growing up created a bond that’s remained strong into adulthood. Spencer is thankful to have Adam standing with him today as he takes this big step.

Adam Haid 

Mitchell is Jocelyn’s older brother, and even though he lives up in Thunder Bay, he’s always been incredibly important to her. It means so much to Jocelyn to have him be part of their wedding day, and Spencer is thrilled to have him as one of his brothers-in-laws. Mitchell’s support and presence today make this day even more special, and Jocelyn couldn’t be happier to have him standing by their side.

Matthew is Jocelyn’s younger brother, and the two of them share a very special bond. Spencer has had the chance to spend a lot of time with Matthew and is excited to officially call him his brother-in-law. Matthew is currently serving in the Canadian Armed Forces, and it means so much to both Jocelyn and Spencer that he’s able to make it home for the wedding. We’re incredibly grateful to have him by our side on this special day.

Skye is Spencer’s little cousin, and she is one of our beautiful flower girls. Spencer has loved her since the moment he met her as a newborn, and she holds a very special place in both of thier hearts. Skye is such a bright and incredible child, and we’re so happy to have her be part of our wedding ceremony. She means so much to us, and her presence will make our day even more magical.

Addi is Jocelyn’s little cousin, and although she lives in Ottawa, Spencer and Jocelyn cherish so many wonderful memories with her. Addi is spunky, full of energy, and has a way of spreading joy wherever she goes. From the moment we started planning our wedding, we knew we had to include her in our special day—her vibrant spirit is exactly what we want to celebrate, and we’re so happy she’s a part of our ceremony.

Nash is Jocelyn’s cousin, and he is absolutely the perfect little guy! Jocelyn has adored him since the first time she met him, and he’s become such a special part of our lives. With his sweet nature and big smile, Nash is the perfect ring bearer for our wedding. We’re so excited to have him play this important role and know he’ll make our ceremony even more memorable.

Adrian is Spencer’s cousin, and he is such an amazing little human. Inquisitive, confident, and thoughtful, his personality brings joy to everyone around him. Adrian is incredibly important to us, and we knew we had to include him in our big day as our ring bearer.
