Our Wedding

Our Story

Our story truly begins way back at St. Alexander’s Elementary School, where two little kids ended up in the same class, the same friend group, and even the same T-ball team. We were close until grade three, when Jocelyn moved away and Brandon claims his eight-year-old heart was absolutely shattered. After that, life took us in different directions.

Fast forward to university. At a mutual friend’s party, Brandon spotted Jocelyn across the room and, with a mix of surprise and disbelief in his voice, he jumped over the back of a couch and landed right in front of her, blurting out, “Jocelyn Ann Renaud?” We laughed, talked for a minute, and then he vanished. Poof. Gone.

Five more years went by with nothing but a few social-media likes. Then one random Wednesday in October, Brandon sent a simple “hey,” and from there, talking felt effortless again, and he finally asked her out for coffee. It started to feel like all those years apart had been leading right to that moment.

On the day of the date, Brandon showed up with flowers, thirty minutes early. He’ll swear he was exactly on time; Jocelyn will tell you he was too excited to wait and showed up way too early! We choose to agree to disagree. One coffee turned into hours of laughing, singing in the car, and talking for hours as if no time at all had passed since we were kids. When Brandon walked Jocelyn to her door that night, we both knew it wasn’t just a first date. Something bigger had started.

From there, everything just clicked. Within a few weeks, we were meeting each other’s families and getting a glimpse of the lives we were about to share. Shortly after, we made it official. Nine months later, we moved in together, and a year and seven months after that, Brandon proposed. And now here we are, getting ready to celebrate our wedding with all of you.

We used to roll our eyes at the phrase “when you know, you know,” but honestly, we get it now. It feels like our paths crossed again at exactly the right time. Call it fate, or two hopeless romantics finding their way back to each other, but choosing each other has been the easiest decision either of us has ever made.

After all the vanishing acts, we’ve learned our lesson: some things aren’t meant to disappear. Like this love. It’s here, and it’s not going anywhere. We’re so grateful for all of you who have been part of our story, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you.
