Our Wedding

RJ sent Jody an icebreaker on the dating app, and Jody responded. Thinking she was sending a message on the ice breaker, Jody actually asked RJ on a date. Little did she know they would hit it off. They chatted online through the dating app for some time until RJ asked if they could exchange phone numbers. The first phone call lasted for six hours, well into the early morning hours. RJ had to be up to get ready for work in under two hours, and his co-worker reprimanded him. They continued to have phone conversations and finally set a date, time, and place to meet in person for the first time. The date went well, but RJ had another date at the end of the week. RJ told Jody he'd call after his Friday night date, but panic set in for her when RJ didn't call after two hours, leading her to think he liked the other woman more. Two hours led to three hours before he called Jody. Jody made numerous trips to Somerset, WI, before RJ asked her to move in, but she continued to own a home in Lakeville, MN. Eventually, the time came, and Jody sold her house, making Somerset her permanent home with RJ. The rest is history.

For those traveling from out of state or seeking a closer location to our home, we have compiled several hotel options in the area. We also invite you to bring a tent to set up in our backyard to crash in. Please be aware that we live in the country, and wildlife is present in the area. Port-a-potties will be available through the night.

If you own a travel trailer or the like and wish to hook up to water and utilities, here is a campground less than ten minutes from our home.
