The Beginning:
After over 12 years together our story could almost be a full novel! Morgan and her friend Erica had just played in a bags tournament at a retirement home and decided to stop at Six Strings before heading home. Joe was sitting at the bar and Morgan and Erica struck up a conversation with him and ended up all hanging out together the rest of the evening in downtown Bloomington. Morgan offered to drop Joe off at his apartment on her way home and they exchanged phone numbers. The next afternoon Joe texted Morgan to thank her for the ride and asked her to dinner. That night we had our first official date, and our adventure together truly began.


The Proposal:
Roughly 8 years ago we decided to spend a rainy day at a boat show in Springfield. We had every intention of just going for something to do but found ourselves actually discussing the possibility of buying a boat. Joe told Morgan she needed to think it over and decide if shed rather have a ring and a wedding or a boat...Morgan thought about it for all of probably 30 seconds and made her decision. Obviously, the boat duh!!! When she called her mom to tell her the exciting news that theyd just bought a boat, her moms first response was hows that boat going to fit on your finger?.
Fast forward to May 25, 2023, Morgan and Joe had decided to take a week off of work for just a relaxing staycation. Morgan and her friend Tara asked Joe the night before if hed take them out fishing that next morning. As we were packing up the boat that next day Joe thought it just felt like the perfect time to propose to Morgan. Since she had agreed to getting this boat over a ring years ago, it just felt right to propose to her on this very same boat. Hed bought the ring back in February, but hadnt decided yet how he was going to actually propose. So he ran back inside, grabbed the ring and put it in his pocket. We just went down the road to Dawson Lake to fish for a few hours, but before we actually started fishing Joe asked Morgan to come up to the front of the boat real quick. Joe dropped down on one knee and proposed to a very shocked Morgan. Tara also had no idea Joe was planning to propose and had been busy wrapping up a couple things on her laptop for work and had to scramble to find her phone to take photos! Thank goodness she didnt toss her laptop overboard! It was the most perfect day and one that we will never forget. Also, its worth it to note that Joe got a free YETI cooler from Bremer Jewelry for buying the ring. So, thank you for running that promo Bremer- or else Morgan actually may have never gotten her ring. ;)


We are so excited to share our big day with all of you. Every single one of you is so important to us and is a part of our story.
