Is there a dress code?

Our dress code is Black-Tie Optional. Tuxes and gowns are preferred, but not required. For women, block heels are recommended, as the reception will take place under a tent in the museum's garden, which has gravel flooring.

WILL THE WEDDING BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

The ceremony will take place indoors in the museum's upstairs rotunda. Cocktail hour and the reception will be in the garden with gravel and grass areas. Please keep this in mind when selecting shoes for the evening.

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, we are only able to invite a few close family members' children. We request that you only bring children if they are included on your invitation - we hope you understand and enjoy your night out! If you are looking for childcare options in Charleston, our wedding planner highly recommends Simply Southern Sitters: www.simplysouthernsitters.com

Is there on-site parking at the Gibbes?

While there’s no on-site parking, a Charleston County Parking Garage is one block from the Museum at 85 Queen Street. The museum is also very centrally located, so it's easy to walk to or use Uber/Lyft for those who'd like.

When should I arrive?

The Gibbes Museum of Art is open to the public until 5:00pm. The ceremony will start promptly at 5:30pm so please plan accordingly.

Where should I stay?

We have a room block at The Ryder Hotel near the venue. However, visit our travel page to see other options to stay in Charleston.
