Everyone who knows Joe and Kara know how serious they both are about their love for their college team of choice. Joe has always been an avid Carolina fan and Kara has been a die hard NC State fan since her brother Stan attended the university when she was a little girl. In their first conversation, it was obvious that their team allegiance did not align so it was fitting that their first date was to watch an NCState vs. UNC basketball game. It was a great first date, especially since NCState won and Joe was even a great sport about it. Of course any of you who talked to Joe after the first date also know that Kara practically "ran" (his words) to her car after the date because she was nervous. Not that anybody is keeping score, but for the sports that matter the most to them (football and basketball) NCState has the winning record.

A couple of days after their first date, Joe happened to be working Zebulon and messaged Kara. The stars aligned and Kara was actually free for dinner and they met at a local country restaurant. Although planned last minute and right after work, it was this date that both of them cherish the most. While on the date, an older couple randomly approached them at the table to tell them how obvious it was that they were on their first date. Although not exactly correct, they were close. The couple was hilarious, but said they had to come over and talk just to find out if they were right, while also pointing out how sweet it was to watch Joe look at Kara. The conversation ended with them asking for an invite to the future wedding and handing Joe a business card, which unfortunately got lost before Joe had the chance to propose to Kara.

Of course there have been many more dates, but the first two will always be special memories.
