Tiger and JoEl first met at a night of worship at Eastern University where they both are in college. They had never interacted before this point, but with JoEl standing behind Tiger as they both sang, Tiger decided to turn to JoEl at the end of the night and tell her that she had a beautiful voice. This interaction was forgotten for a few months, and they met once again while helping lead a Christian youth retreat for some high schools in the area. Here, Tiger and JoEl began to discover that they had similar interests - Sports like volleyball and spikeball, as well as other hobbies like board games and puzzles. As they returned from this retreat, JoEl and Tiger continued to spend time together in groups playing all sorts of games as well as being in the same Bible study with a group of friends that they had made. As time went on and they began to date, they met each others' families and both immediately fit in. With Tiger's love of sports, he was able to easily fit in with JoEl's extended family of competitive athletes. JoEl's love of games and kids helped her join right in with the Winston games and help out taking care of the nephews who were always running around the house. After just a few months of being together, they could see how their lives and dreams lined up and both saw a future together. After a little longer than a year, JoEl and Tiger got engaged in Stony Brook on the beach with the Winston family at the end of March, and just 4 months later we will be getting married and beginning our lives together.
