Our Story

I met Joey unexpectedly while working the night shift in the Medical ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital. It was about midnight and I was writing my nursing notes and catching up on charting at the nurses' station. My coworkers Perl and Pam were heating up food for our midnight potluck, for Valentine’s Day, in the patient kitchen. They asked me to join them. I declined, saying that I would eat later once I finished charting. However, they insisted that I come eat now and that I could catch up on charting later. So, I gave in and walked into the kitchen. To my surprise, there was this buff man with biceps bulging through his scrub top. They introduced me to him as Joel, who worked downstairs in the Open Heart ICU. I said hello and we talked briefly. Pam and Perl asked if I had a Valentine, to which I said no. They asked Joel the same question, and he also said that he did not have a Valentine (even though they asked him before I was in the room, they wanted me to hear his answer lol). He then said that he came upstairs looking for Novasource because his floor ran out. Thankfully, we had the tube feeding he needed for his patient. My coworkers insisted that he should give me his number and that he might be able to get me a job in the Open Heart ICU and even be my preceptor. I was embarrassed and felt bad that my coworkers harassed him. However, I saved his number and said goodbye for the evening. Later that evening, I texted him and started talking. I knew that after our 4-hour FaceTime, our first date wouldn’t be like any other date I had been on, and I was right! Our 1-hour ax-throwing date turned into a 6-hour date of ax-throwing, dinner &amp; margaritas, Dave &amp; Busters, and a movie that I fell asleep in the first 20 minutes. Being with him was so natural and we both didn’t want the night to end. As time went on and I got to know him and his wonderful family, I knew that he was the one I was meant to marry and spend my life with.

We are blocking 15 rooms at this hotel. This hotel is located about 10 min from the venue. There will also be a complimentary shuttle service from this hotel to and from the venue. Accommodations

There are many fun things to do in the area for those coming from out of town. We are close to NYC (20 min by car and 39 min by bus). The hotel is also about 5-10 min from American Dream Mall (2nd largest mall in America) with an indoor ski slope, theme park, and aquarium.
