Billy and Joel met as high school freshman in French class, entirely by accident. Joel was the last to arrive in class and the only seat option was at Billy's table. Neither were happy about this new seating arrangement but soon enough they bonded over a mutual dislike of the class and combined interest in heavy metal, movies, and books. Over the years they've gone to many concerts together and will continue to do so.
