On December 12, 2011 Chris and Joelle were introduced to each other by a mutual friend in the hallway of Greenall High School. A few days later, on December 16, 2011, Joelle asked her parents if Chris could come over. Chris’ mom dropped him off at the old Okey Dokey’s in White City, where Joelle walked from her house to meet him. They spent the evening talking and watching TV together. Just before Chris’ mom picked him up, he asked Joelle to be his girlfriend and she said SURE (15-year-old Joelle was so nervous and excited that was the first word that came out of her mouth).

After eleven and a half years together, on July 25, 2023, Chris got down on one knee and asked Joelle to marry him at Cottonwood Falls in Nelson, British Columbia. Joelle cried happy tears and said YES. Fun fact, this was the same day that Joelle’s parents got engaged in 1992.

Over the years, the couple has shared many experiences together. Going to their Grade 12 Graduations together, travelling throughout Canada and the United States, going to many concerts, festivals and comedy shows, living in 4 different apartments (one being in Saskatoon while Joelle was in school), adopting their fur baby cats Juno and Jinny, buying their first house together and spending time with their friends and family.

They look forward to celebrating their love with friends and family.
