Our Wedding

Our Story

Our story began in 2019. Zach was in college at Dunwoody and coincidentally had a classmate that was dating Joelle’s childhood friend. So in true friend fashion they set us up and we started from there. We went on a few dates and really grew to like each other but with Joelle living in Oakdale at the time, the distance just became too much and we decided to part ways. Fast forward to September of 2022 Joelle messaged Zach asking to reconnect, in her words, “i have to shoot my shot..sorry if you aren’t single” (You’re welcome Zachary) Zach was in fact single at the time, and we set up a date. One date led to another and by the time October 6th 2022 came around Zach asked Joelle to make it official. We continued to date for 8 months when we found ourselves in a jewelry story, just a few months away from our one-year anniversary. Joelle had picked out her dream engagement ring. Zach wasn't sure if he could ever remember the exact look so he bought it right then and there. Zach had tried to plan an elaborate proposal up in Grand Marais just past Duluth for our one-year anniversary trip. Joelle had caught on to the plan. So, Zach realizing he had been caught decided to do it the next day on July 30th, 2023. Zach coxed Joelle out of bed by asking “Wanna take Tank (Zach's black lab) on a walk?”, which she accepted. Zach had brought Joelle to Rum River Park where we had our first date in 2019. Zach popped the question on our walk in the middle of a field of tall grass. It was Joelle’s easiest yes. We got our engagement pictures done in the exact spot he proposed. It was so special. Now we’re here and so excited to share our special day with you all! We can’t wait!

We have not reserved or blocked off any rooms. We also do not have a shuttle to and from the hotels and venue.   CAMPING IS WELCOME!  There is a big back field that can accommodate RV’s, tents, campers etc. You will need your own generator as there is no power outlets close enough.
