It all started at the Boy Scouts of Good Shepherd School. Joey had his two sons, Bradley and Brian, in Troop 25 where he was one of the Troop leaders. Juliet was a single mom taking her son, Justin, to the meetings. After Joey’s separation, Juliet developed a crush but was too shy to even talk to him. This went on for months. Luckily, some of the Scout moms realized what was happening and told Joey to start taking notice of the attention Juliet was giving him – from a distance.
Eventually, a long conversation ensued between them at the Moss Park campout. After some time, Juliet texted Joey to ask him about some “Scout” questions she had. Well that simple question extended to a nine-hour texting conversation. Joey asked Juliet out on their first date for Friday, January 24, 2014. It took place at Season’s 52 in Orlando Florida where Joey was waiting inside at the door (he is always early) holding a bouquet of flowers. After staying until closing time, neither wanted the night to end. They took the party to Señor Frogs on International Drive where Joey serenated her by singing “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey in her ear. Joey is an excellent singer…NOT!! Afterwards, they sat in the parking lot in Joey’s car talking into the wee hours of the night.
Joey and Juliet kept their relationship a secret to make sure this was the real thing before they told their children. They went on several secret dates and even to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church/School Mardi Gras festival where he met her mother, Laurie, and stepfather, Richard. It was time to tell the kids when Juliet decided to take him to the wedding of her sister, Marybeth, in North Carolina. Here he met many members of her entire family and Joey felt welcomed by all. Juliet also met Joey’s dad, Angel, that summer. Their relation kept growing and they found so many common interests. They have a love for Disney, theater shows, movies, their faith, the Boy Scouts, friends, family, and 80’s concerts. Yes, Joey keeps serenading her with his incredible voice at every concert.
Joey knew that Juliet was the girl for him and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. So, he decided to propose to her. Joey knew he had to go all out on this and make it special for Juliet to give her what she deserves. Joey asked her three brothers, Richie, Danny, Drew, and her son, Justin, for her hand in marriage. Joey did not have the opportunity to ask her dad, Dan, as he had sadly passed away earlier that year. Of course, they all gave him a very hard time but eventually they all gave Joey their blessing.
Joey with his Evergreen Lifestyle Management family, where he worked, planned a flash mob on April 23, 2022, at the Whole Enchilada in Winter Garden, Florida. The engagement proposal was perfect and guess what she said YES!
Since then, Juliet has dragged Joey to over fifteen wedding expos, multiple wedding venues, and met tons of vendors in preparation for the big day. Now, here we are, ten years later. We are very thankful that you, our friends and family, who have been a big part of our journey and watched us grow as a couple. We cannot wait to take our vows, that will join us forever, in front of all of you that have been there for us.
Thank you for being a big part of our lives and helping us develop our Love Story.
