Wait, you’ve been together how long? August 2011, photography class. Johanna nervously walked in as the new girl, and after one glance (ahem, stare), Noah turned to his friends to admit his crush. In a flash came the homecoming dance, our first date, prom, and countless other adolescent rites of passage. We were completely infatuated — sneaking off after work shifts as ski instructors, skipping class to make out, and doing all the other dumb high school lover things. And somewhere along the way, that teenage dream puppy love evolved into something more material and mature than either of us could imagine. In college, we pursued our own paths yet somehow lived closer to each other than in Tahoe. Our separate lives intersected on weekends, Noah sneaking to Cal for frat parties and Thai food, and Johanna escaping to Saint Mary’s when she needed quiet. We were each other’s rocks through undergrad’s biggest peaks and valleys, and again, that young, semi-grown up love continued to deepen. The biggest jump happened in 2021, when Johanna got accepted into her dream nursing school across the country. With a remote job (thanks, COVID) and an excitement for something new, Noah followed her out to Baltimore, where we found our first home together, adopted a dog, and built our own little life across the country. Whether it’d be high school photo class, or a college party, a Hinge date, or a farmers market in our twenties, the outcome would have been the same wherever we’d meet.&nbsp; And as we approach marriage, our thirties, parenthood, and eventually our old age, the one certainty we share is that we want to experience it together. So while it feels like a bit of a rush, we’re beyond thrilled to spring into marriage, 14 years into our love story (which means that at this point, we’ve been together for exactly half of our lives).
