How It Started…  Like true post-COVID era people, we met the modern way—on Hinge. After some time, we were face to face—Danielle fresh out of cancer treatment, and John fresh back in Chicago after chasing big dreams in NYC.  John almost canceled their first date (film reshoot drama), but came back with flowers and charm, so the date was back on. Danielle showed up straight from a hospital visit (pro tip: maybe don’t skip meals before karaoke) and tried to play it cool... until she told her entire cancer story mid-date. Oops.  John didn’t flinch. Instead, he offered food and asked to keep talking. That sealed the deal.  From there, it was game over—they were glued at the hip. Danielle was front row at every show John performed, and John supported her every step as she poured her heart into healing and empowering kids on Chicago’s West Side.  Two months in, John showed up with sunflowers and a note on his phone asking Danielle to be his girlfriend. She said yes.  Fast forward: lots of deep convos, laughs, healing, prayers, matching dreams, and many dog videos later… John asked her dad for his blessing, got the ring, and dropped to one knee in Atlanta on April 6, 2024. Danielle screamed, “Did you ask my dad?!” and then, “YES!”  On August 14, 2024, we made it official at a courthouse surrounded by our people—some in person, some virtually, all in tears (including the judge).  We’ve learned that love is more than butterflies—it's about purpose, prayer, and being each other’s person no matter what. We’re just getting started—and we can’t wait to celebrate this wild, beautiful ride with you on August 16, 2025!
