Out of courtesy to the tradition of the Orthodox Church, we ask that women cover their heads during the wedding service .

We will have extra head-coverings available to those who do not have any.

For those who would like help putting on head-coverings, we will have available help from some women experienced in wearing head-coverings.

For hundreds years, even up until recent times, it has been the custom that women cover their heads and wear skirts or dresses, especially while in church or at prayer, and that men remove their hats . Within the Orthodox Church we still hold to this ancient Christian custom, and this is what we are holding to for our wedding. See I Corinthians 11:2-16 for more on this tradition.
