John and Sam were in the same study group at Wentworth. Sam later discovered that John was just attending these study groups to spend time with her and he ended up being a life saving "group tutor." After one study session, John offered to be a model for Sam while she practiced taking acapella group head shot photos , and they spent the day touring the city of Boston. First picture together.

Junior year finals presentations. John asked Sam to be his girlfriend the next day (8/16) before she got on a plane for a week long family trip.

Sam came back from Utah the day before her 21st birthday and John surprised her with cupcakes and wine glasses. He then helped her move out of her apartment and brought all her belonging home where John met Sam's parents for the first time.

Sam met John's whole family and best friends. She learned how to play airsoft, a Westerhof tradition.

Sam threw John a surprise 22nd birthday party and invited all his hometown friends.
