Alex and John first met in the summer of 2020 at John's favorite place: aboard NAUTI BOYS! This was soon followed by their first date at RL in the Gold Coast. Alex was nervous from the beginning, as John noticed his leg shaking under the table during dinner. John was a little annoyed when Alex had to leave abruptly for his early bedtime, but when Alex turned around and came back to kiss John goodnight, John fell instantly in love. Unfortunately, the pandemic began to worsen again, and spending more time together became challenging. But when Alex saw John several months later and they sat down to talk, Alex fell in love within minutes.

Since then, things have moved along at a steady pace. They have already travelled the world, including to Australia, Fiji, Italy, the Caribbean and Brazil. They bought their first home together in 2022, where they love to host family and friends. They both embarked on new phases of their careers, with John taking his business solo and Alex starting as medical director at a new cancer center. Through it all, they have learned to be better partners to each other and to face both the good and the bad times of life together.

They are so looking forward to hosting family and friends at the Adler Planetarium this September where they will be taking their vows in front of the gorgeous Chicago skyline and lakefront. This will be the most important day of their lives thus far. Beyond this special day, Alex and John are excited for their future together, and are grateful to have all of you in their lives.
