We are so excited to have you all experience the place we call home. Here are our suggestions of things to do and places to eat to make sure you enjoy the weekend to the fullest.
We love Forge for their sourdough bagels and breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They also have great coffee which you can enjoy while watching the expert bakers through a window in the back of the restaurant. We spend many Sunday mornings here.
A neighborhood staple! This place always has a line but you can put your name on the list and enjoy a free spiced hot chocolate or coffee while you wait. Cash or venmo only. They have both traditional Portuguese breakfast and all the American brunch classics. Enjoy breakfast in their outdoor courtyard. This would be a great place to brunch on Saturday morning before heading out to Groton if the weather is nice..
Nestled inside of Bow Market, Mike and Patty's has amazing breakfast sandwiches. Christina loves the Fancy and John loves the breakfast Grilled Crack sandwich.
If you're staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Cambridge, you'll be right next to Cambridge Crossing which has had a lot of new restaurants and shops open up. For those of you that are too good for Starbucks, give Tatte a try.
Owned by the same people as Forge, with a decent amount of seating. You can even sit inside an old bank vaults. Bloc is right in the heart of Union Square and a great spot if you are planning on hopping on the Green Line into Boston for some activities.
On weekends from 10am-3pm you can get unlimited brunch for $25 a person. Yep - unlimited brunch. Worth the short bus ride on the 87. Also good for dinner!
Great spot for a variety of American dishes with a slight Southern spin. Seriously, I don't think we've ever had a bad dish here and the cocktails are great. The $5 Narragansett on draft is also a great deal if that's what you're looking for.
This spot located in the Cambria hotel is a solid option for Italian fare. Enjoy pizzas and pastas and don't miss on the arancini.
Upscale Oktoberfest fare? Sign us up. We love this spot for dinner, but be sure to make a reservation as they often get busy at peak times. We highly recommend the schnitzel. If you don't like beer do not worry, their Rhine wine list is unmatched. The giant pretzel is worth it - just get it.
Whether or not you were eyeing Mike and Patty's for breakfast sandwiches, they also serve South Shore pizza and North Shore roast beef as 'Hot Box' in the evening. If you're looking for something quick to eat before the Welcome Drinks, this is the place. It might sound weird, but the spicy pickle pizza is the best thing on the menu.
Our go-to sushi spot that's reasonably priced. Eat in or take out!
Order from here after the welcome drinks for a nice late night snack in bed. Conveniently located next to the Cambria. Is it good? Maybe. Does it hit the spot? Absolutely.
Open till 10pm, this is 'American diner food' for our veggie friends - and it's still tasty if you are a meat lover.
Open until 10:30pm, this is our take out staple. If you are are looking for great Indian food takeout this is the spot. We recommend the Chicken Daal and the Paneer Masala. Ironically, we do not recommend the momos.
Looking for something to do Saturday morning? Visit the Union Square farmer's market, open until 1pm. Grab a pastry, some craft Kombucha, or a cup of coffee. We are here pretty much every Saturday.
Visit the shops at Bow Market. This indoor/outdoor market has everything from thrift shops, to stationary stores, to jewelry, and even a pinball arcade.
If you want to run/walk/bike on Saturday the esplanade has an incredible view of the Boston skyline and the MIT dome.
If you are in the mood for an adventure we highly recommend renting kayaks and taking to the Charles River. In 1.5 hours you can make it from the museum of science to the Harvard Bridge and back.
If you are an art lover this museum is definitely the best in Boston. The building, the art, and the heist history make this a must see.
If you like aquariums, this one is world renowned. The open-air penguin exhibit is unmatched.
Go to the north end for some cannolis, a true Boston staple. We prefer Modern Pastry over Mike's - be sure to bring cash.
