John Reid and Brooke were never really strangers to one another. Both being from Moultrie, attending the same church growing up, and being a part of a small town, they’ve truly always been around one another. From standing beside each other on the church stage, singing in the middle school choir together, and going to the homecoming dances together, their lives have shared some of the biggest moments.

Although John Reid and Brooke were around each other constantly as they grew up, the love story didn’t start until 9th grade. As friend groups began to mold, they found themselves spending lots of time together. They insisted they were “just friends” and that there wouldn’t be anything further to come from it. In September of 2016, they went to the homecoming dance as “just friends” still denying any sort of love for one another.

Sometimes love is just too irresistible and they found themselves dating in December of 2016. These 2 high school lovebirds had no idea what the next 7 years would hold.

Their relationship only got stronger as they each tackled the battles of high school and then COVID-19. They were inseparable and truly did just about everything together. Ending high school early due to COVID-19 and having more time at home before leaving for college was not all too bad for John Reid and Brooke.

In August of 2020, John Reid and Brooke left for college, attending 2 different colleges, and experiencing what some call “long distance dating” for the first time. They were determined to fight for their love, even if distance tried to intervene.

John Reid and Brooke would both tell you that their college years, both as individuals and a couple, were the most instrumental years of their lives. They have both grown so much and experienced life in a new way. The Lord has been so gracious and kind to them and they will relay that message constantly.

John Reid is nearly an Athens native at this point as he spends a majority of his weekends there, supporting Brooke in her role at Prince Avenue Baptist Church and cheering on the Dawgs. He sure does love Kennesaw and his community there, but has chosen to invest in Athens as well. Brooke is so thankful for this and she visits Kennesaw when she can.

John Reid and Brooke simply love doing life alongside one another. They have big dreams for their future together and cannot wait to experience life’s adventures as husband and wife.
