Flying from RDU to BOS takes about 2 1/2 hours. Driving takes about 13 hours.

Avelo, a budget airline, flies direct from Raleigh/Durham (RDU) to Manchester, NH (MHT). Avelo has limited flight times, but MHT's small size allows for easy boarding and disembarking. Frontier, another budget airline, flies direct from RDU to Boston. Delta and JetBlue also fly direct between RDU and Boston. However, they typically sport higher prices.

Budget Airlines saved us a lot of money. However, they host an à la carte pricing structure, so they can cost extra if you aren't careful. One personal item is free. You have to pay extra for, seat-choice, carry-on bags, and checked bags. Make sure your personal item matches the airline's size requirements as they will check.
