Our Wedding

Since we are both p̶o̶o̶r̶ graduate students, one night we separately went out with friends to the same c̶h̶e̶a̶p̶ trendy Thai restaurant for dinner. Our friends recognized each other, and the four of us sat together. I thought that I would never John again, so I freely told the most embarrassing stories that I've ever told in front of a stranger. A few months later, I noticed John in the building where I work, and thought,"̶S̶h̶*̶t̶!̶!̶!̶"̶ ̶"Yay!". We started running into each other at work events and at mutual friends' parties. After about a year of running into each other, I asked John out to see a special exhibit at the New York Public Library. Not only did he accept my invitation, but he asked me to brunch. I was horrified! What could we possibly talk about for an entire brunch?! I guess I made a good impression because after that, he asked me out every weekend.

How we met (Kara's Version)

I was catching up with one of my friends over dinner when one of our other friends walked in with t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶r̶a̶n̶d̶o̶m̶ ̶g̶i̶r̶l̶ Kara. My friend invited them to join us, and they did. After sitting down, Kara went on to tell us T̶M̶I̶ about some of her recent NYC dating adventures. One of them involved a fireman. I thought it was rather forward of her given that she didn't know half the people at the table, but I figured I'd probably never see her again so whatever.A few weeks later, I ran into Kara again at work. Then she turned up at a party one of my friends threw. She was turning up everywhere. As I got to know Kara better, I started thinking to myself, "She seems pretty cool. I wonder if she's still single. Maybe I should ask her out." Next thing I know, she beats me to the punch. And the rest is history.
