How We Met

John and Brianna met in June of 2021 in the modern day fashion, online. John and Brianna both had their settings to only match with people within a 25 mile radius. Somehow, there was a glitch in the system and Brianna found herself driving 70+ miles to meet the cute stranger that had a horse in his profile picture. Turns out that John does not have a horse nor has ever had a horse, by the way. Nor has Brianna ever seen him with a horse. They went to a few restaurants that were jam packed with a long wait list. They settled on take-out pizza from Webster Lake Pizza, where they shared their first kiss in the parking lot.

Fun fact: Their first date, John told Brianna he was going to marry her. For whatever reason, Brianna did not run away. He's lucky Brianna fell in love with Bear the dog, maybe she wouldn't have come back.

I love you

Just a couple of weeks later, Brianna met John's mom Cyndee for the first time and stayed the weekend with her. Cyndee and Brianna hit it off immediately and were up talking until almost 3 am while John snoozed away.

Soon after this weekend, John went to Brianna's parent's house for the first time where a family party was happening. John was forced to meet Brianna's entire (very large and sometimes chaotic) family at once. There was no "meet the parents." It was more like ... "here are cousins, grandfather, uncles, aunts, Mom and Dad". John handled this very well and fit right in immediately. Brianna's family now refers to John as "Sidearm John."

By August of that year, John told Brianna he loved her for the first time on the way back to his apartment, after meeting his Dad for the first time. Brianna replied with "look at that construction worker dancing". They've exchanged a bajillion 'I love yous' since then.

Both John and Brianna's friends and family had their doubts, and thought that maybe this was all happening too fast. The cliche saying of "when you know, you know" had proven to be true. John and Brianna became inseparable best friends quickly.

Living together

By September of that year, Brianna moved across the state to live with John. Their story starts in a teeny tiny in-law apartment in Webster, MA. Not long after moving in, Brianna and John got COVID together and were forced to quarantine for 2 weeks in said teeny tiny apartment. Brianna would always say "if we can live together in this place, we can live together forever."

Then What?

The next year and a half John and Brianna had a great time getting to know each other and becoming even closer. They fell in love with each others families. Brianna considers John's sister Zoe one of her best friends. John is always called Scott's (Brianna's Dad) sidekick.

Brianna and John enjoy going on long car rides together and talking for hours. They like to be home with their dogs and spending quality time. They like to play rummy, even though Brianna always wins. In warmer weather, they love to sit on their deck. Sunday breakfast is their thing.

engagement

On December 15th, 2022 John sort of tricked Brianna into going to the jewelry store. They had plans to go look at Christmas lights. He told her they were just going to try on some rings to get an idea for "someday". Brianna put on her now engagement ring and told him she liked something that was similar to it. John then handed over his bank card. Brianna was shocked. When the jewelry employee told Brianna to take the ring off, she simply said "no." John later got on one knee in their living room, in front of the Christmas tree they cut down together, and proposed (Though the ring was still already on her finger.)

Building a life they love

In May of 2023, John and Brianna purchased their first home. They worked very hard towards this goal, and proved to each other that together they can do anything.

Fun fact: Their home is only about 7 minutes from their wedding venue.

Anyone that knows John and Brianna know that they rarely ever go anywhere without their dog, Bear. On July 30th, 2023 - they went to get Brianna's phone replaced and ended up coming up with their new family member, Wesson. Bear is happy to have a brother.

Brianna and John look forward to the rest of their lives together. They are so happy to have each and every guest in their lives.
