I don’t think anyone is ever truly ready, but when someone makes you feel alive again, it’s worth the risk. The best kind of love is often the unexpected kind. Never in a million years did we think we’d end up here, but they say the best relationships are the ones you never saw coming.

You don’t just pick someone and hope it works out. When we met, we were both figuring out life, trying to make sense of where we were heading. But for some reason, everything felt better when we were doing it together. From late-night car talks to spontaneous drives just to get away and be alone with each other, we found solace in each other’s presence, never wanting this love to be apart.

We were broken. Broken by life, by others, and by our own serious dysfunctions. But somehow, we found each other after nearly two decades of near misses, of almost being there, but not quite. And when we finally came together, all the jagged edges of our broken pieces fit together perfectly. It was as if all that time, while we were being broken, we were being shaped to be exactly what the other needed.

Now, we stand here, grateful for the journey that brought us to this moment, knowing that our story was meant to be.
