It all began on April 11, 2022, when Johnnie headed to dinner with an old friend, Angela Koch, completely unaware that her life was about to change forever. When she arrived, Angela surprised her with unexpected news—a special date was waiting inside. Little did Johnnie know, that night would mark the beginning of an incredible journey with an amazing man named Daniel Koennecke.

From the moment we met, we hit it off in a way we never expected. Our connection was instant, and just a week later, we planned our first official date. What started as a simple Tuesday night 1st date soon became a cherished routine. Less than a month later, on May 16th, we made it official.

A little over a month after our 2nd Anniversary, we went on our annual couples trip with our best friends. With a few playful words—“Come here, dumbass”—and a couple of red roses, Daniel got down on one knee. On June 21, 2024, he asked me to be his wife, and I couldn’t have been happier.

Our adventures together have been nothing short of amazing—from exploring the beautiful beaches of Hawaii to renting a cozy cabin in Granbury, from sun-drenched days in Mexico to fun weekends in Cow Town and Port A. Through it all, it’s the simplest moments that bring us the most joy, whether it’s taking a load of cattle to auction or running errands at H-E-B. There’s no one else we’d rather spend our time with.

I can’t imagine my life without Daniel, and I’m forever grateful for that surprise date almost three years ago that brought us together. Together, everything feels right, and I look forward to all the adventures still to come.
